This book consists of the author’s preface and postscript and the protagonist’s three personal letters and it tells the tragedy of the protagonist who keeps falling from youth to middle age to escape from reality, experiences self-exile, alcohol abuse, suicide, self-paralysis with medicine and finally moves towards self-destruction step by step. In the process of self-denial, he expresses his inner anguish and longs to be loved.
