Refund & Returns Policy

This Refund and Returns Policy applies to purchases made from Belen (belen.life). As a secondhand marketplace, product conditions are described and shown in listings, including photos and, where available, video. Please read this policy carefully before placing an order.

 

1. Eligibility for Returns

You may request a return within 7 days from the date you receive the item
(based on the logistics provider’s delivery timestamp), only under the following circumstances:

  • You received an incorrect item (e.g., wrong title, ISBN, edition, or quantity).
  • The item suffered significant transit damage that materially affects usability
    (e.g., torn pages, severe water damage) and such damage was not disclosed in the listing.
  • Customer mistakes (e.g., ordering the wrong item, entering the wrong address) are accepted
    as valid return reasons, provided they fall within the 7-day return window.
    In such cases, return shipping is borne by the customer.

Refunds will not be accepted for subjective reasons such as:

  • “Not as expected”
  • “Condition not new enough”
  • “Do not like the content”

This is because the condition and notable flaws are disclosed clearly in the listing.

To remain eligible for a return, the item must:

  • Be returned in the same condition as received;
  • Include all materials (e.g., dust jacket, inserts);
  • Be packaged securely for return shipment.

Items that are further used, altered, or damaged by the customer after delivery are
not eligible for return or refund.

 

2. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Items explicitly listed with disclosed defects or heavy wear;
  • Promotional items, bundled freebies, and zero-price items;
  • Unauthorized returns (items sent back without prior approval);
  • Items returned after the 7-day window.

 

3. Return Shipping Responsibility

If Belen is responsible (for example: incorrect item shipped, or undisclosed transit damage):

  • Belen will bear the return shipping cost.
  • We will provide instructions and, where applicable, a prepaid return label or a
    reimbursement method for the return shipping.

If the return is due to customer reasons (for example: wrong item ordered, incorrect address provided):

  • Return shipping cost is borne by the customer.
  • We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service. The risk of loss or damage during
    return shipping remains with the sender until the returned item is received by Belen.

 

4. How to Request a Return

To initiate a return, please email us within 7 days of delivery at:

Include the following details in your email:

  • Your order number;
  • Clear photos showing the item received;
  • Photos of any damage or discrepancy (if applicable);
  • A brief description of the issue.

We will review your request and reply with the next steps, including:

  • The correct return address;
  • Any return label, reference code, or additional instructions required.

Do not ship items back before receiving our confirmation.
Unauthorized returns may be refused or not processed.

 

5. Inspection and Refunds

In some cases, we may require you to return the item; in other cases, a physical return may not be necessary.
Where a return is required, the refund process will begin
only after we have received and inspected the returned item.

After inspection, we will notify you whether your refund is approved or rejected.

If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method.
Depending on your bank or payment provider, refunds typically appear within
7–14 business days after processing.

Refund of shipping fees:

  • Original shipping fees are refundable only where Belen is at fault
    (incorrect item shipped or undisclosed transit damage).
  • In all other cases, original shipping fees are not refundable.

International orders:

  • Any customs duties, import taxes, or brokerage fees charged by your local authorities are
    not refundable by Belen.
  • You may consult your local customs office or tax authority regarding possible reclaim options, where available.

 

6. Condition Disclosure

Each listing describes the item’s condition and notable flaws to the best of our knowledge,
with photos and, where available, video for transparency.

By purchasing from Belen, you acknowledge and accept that secondhand items may show
reasonable signs of prior use as disclosed in the listing.

Notes

  • Please keep your proof of posting and tracking number for all returns.
  • If the packaging arrives visibly damaged, please photograph the parcel and its contents upon delivery
    and include those images when you email us about the issue.
